Blow Flies : Blow flies lay their eggs on dead animals and decaying matter. They are also called “bottle flies” because of their shiny blue or green color that looks like glass. If you notice a large number of blow flies indoors, it usually indicates the presence of a dead animal such as a rat or bird within the structure.
House Flies : House flies are the most common flies found in households. They are dull gray in color with four dark stripes on their thorax. These flies lay eggs on garbage, animal waste, and decaying organic matter, making them major carriers of diseases.
Flesh Flies :
Flesh flies are slightly larger than house flies and are gray or black in color. They have three dark stripes on their thorax and a distinctive checkerboard pattern on their abdomen. These flies are attracted to decaying flesh and waste materials where they lay their eggs.
Fruit Flies : Fruit flies are small, tan-colored flies with red eyes. They are attracted to sweet and fermented substances like fruits, juices, syrup, vinegar, and alcohol. They breed quickly in rotting fruits and organic waste, making them a common nuisance in kitchens.
Drain Flies : Drain flies, also known as moth flies or sewer flies, are tiny flies with hairy wings. They are commonly found in bathrooms and drains where they breed in stagnant water and organic buildup. These flies are often seen resting on walls near sinks and drainage areas.
